A cracking day (for a change) planet spring barley, beaten down with wind and rain, a decent yield but grain is small and pinched, lots of straw though, which is a welcome bonus

Quick road test after changing rear diff & pinion and swapping low speed gears for fast speed gears in the main 1,2,3,4 box. uprated speed from 16mph to the giddy heights of 29mph
Great little tractors, pack a punch for there size.
She's got a lovely sound. Plough makes a good job
The good old days of casual work on the hay high up in the hay shed taking bales off the elevator on a hot summers day 😊
yeah, the good old days,......not sure I want them back though 🤣
Ron, do you know what year it is? I presume this is in England?
1964 model, yes in the UK
Thanks Roland, I don't think these tractors with the advanced hydraulics made it down under because of the availability of the B414.
If only my dad's B414 looked this good.
Which gear are you pulling with?
High first, low TA, I think
مرحباً كيف حالكم عمل رائع الات رائع كنت أقود مثلها والآن أنا أبحث عن العمل إذا كان هناك عمل انا في خدمتكم وشكراً
My dad bought a b275 20 years ago first tractor. I ever drove at 8 years old, and I bought it off my dad. It has been a good tractor
I have watched this video several times now. Absolutely enjoy it every time. Do you still have the B-275?
Still have it
This is brilliant. Old school with petrol side valve engine I reckon. Probably made in 1950s?
it's actually a 4 cyl diesel engine, same as fitted to early 35 tractors, combine is 1962, thank you for comment
@@bufferbridge Thank you kindly.
My 674 runs about 30mph
what did you do to yours?
Absolutely horny tractor. I have two. One with fast speed gearbox, i use it to top the wee out fields 2 miles from the farm where big topper cant get tae
Your tractor is absolutely gorgeous. The wife and I purchased a B275 that has been mistreated for many years. I'm hoping we can restore it. We will start posting videos of the journey so that others can help us fix it as we are by no means experts in any of it. I can watch videos, turn wrenches, and use paint cans. It will never look as good as yours does, but we also plan on using it to bush hog, and maintain the 3/4 mile dirt road of a driveway that goes thru 4 parcels of land.
Good to hear another one being saved, don't know if you are on Facebook but we have one or two groups on there, international 3 & 4 cylinder tractors, international owners are two, although predominantly UK members we do have a few of our American cousins on there, very helpful members on there when it comes to the more technical things, good luck with the project
@@bufferbridge I am on Facebook and will join the groups to source those excellent benefits of knowledge passed down thanks James - Gladstone, Va USA
Memories ploughing with International tractors, they have a distinctive sound for sure!
Loved it! I know exactly why you put the sound over it.
Nice machine. Excuse my ignorance on New Hollands we had a Claas, but our neigbours had a Clayson 122 or a 140 (can't remember which one). Are these just an updated version of the 122? I always thought they looked a better machine than a Claas!
8040 was an upgrade to the clayson 1530, the 1520 replaced the 122, 1530 was 4 Walker machine & 6cyl engine,while the 1520 was a 4cyl with shorter straw walkers I think
Great combines, basic and reliable
Awesome vid, and many thanks for not putting music over it!
Lovely to see an old machine still going strong 👍 reminds me of the late Ivan god rest his soul 😭 hope you're keeping well, lovely lot of straw there too
Thanks for the comment, long time no see, hope you & family are well. dear ole Ivan, they don't come much better
puissance incroiabe 4 soc pour 78 cv merci
Lovely video thoroughly enjoyed
Where did you by the parts you needed for the trans?
From a local tractor breaker
She's a beauty
We had a 574 that could shift too
Effortless power 👌🏼🚜
F/ck ing Brilliant
Our 574 has the hub Axel's and the hi clearance tyres and it's dangerous to hold if flat out on the road just about impossible to keep it on the road it's steering isn't the steadyest and it flys along the road as well dangerous for such a small tractor.
mine drives like a car, steering is tight, brakes are spot on, it does get a bit twitchy with 230mm row crops and 900lts in the sprayer though
@@bufferbridge I'm wondering if the steering ram needs a new seal on the piston and letting oil get past it it's got no oil leaking on the outer seals and driving around slow it steers with one finger
good work,4 furrow was always a lovely plough with, nice straight pull on the tractor.I ploughed for years with a Ransomes 4 furrow conventional behind a Massey 188 multi power
I have a question on where to locate the tachometer housing on the dash and where to install the spinning cable that goes along with it?
Tachometer goes in it's own housing below steering wheel, drive is taken from a little gearbox just above the engine oil filter
Was is this the first start after an engine rebuild?
Not exactly an engine rebuild, one liner(sleeve) had gone porous,it had a new liner, valves & seats were done
@@bufferbridge do you still have this tractor?
@@rudycarlson8245 still have all my Case tractors
@@bufferbridge how many cases do you have?
@@rudycarlson8245 1938 R, 1940 D, 1946 DC3 & the 1948 LA
Buenas noches este tractor 275 es con camisas flotantes ?
I get so nostalgic from that engine sound. Had this tractor by my side since i was born. watching my dad and grandpa drive it around. Still runs amazingly to this day.
Good advertisement for case👍
Яка ширина захвата корпуса ?
Great job Roland she's moving swiftly now. Good tight engine too.
Looks grate better looking than mine all the same good runner ☝️☝️☝️
Nice job 3sod plough and plenty of power to do it
Lovely video!
Good day from Ontario Canada So what did you do with trans? I have a 574 , they m ove along about 20 mph. Thanks
I changed the main 4 speed syncromesh box for a fast speed one & and changed the crown wheel pinion set for the fastest one,a combination that was not offered from factory. there is a slow speed box with a code:A & a fast speed box code:B, also three different crown wheel pinion sets, a code:T very slow, a code:R medium speed & a code:S fast. the transmission codes can be found on the left side of bell housing, just above starter moter on worldwide series & 84 series and on the side of the rear right hand corner of back end about PTO shaft level
@@bufferbridge Thanks Where are these available? Thanks Are instructions for 574 too or just 6.
@@donvoll2580 all transmissions are the same, from 454 right up to the last 4240,front section just unbolts from rear section once the PTO input shaft is released, workshop manuals are online
You have done a really nice restoration and it runs like a new one, maybe better?
As a kid learnt to drive the 275 ,first tractor I drove, such an iconic engine sound the international tractors.
Nice and tidy bit of ploughing there. Keeping it straight and going at a nice steady pace, not too fast, not too slow. Well done!
Hi could you tell me please how fast are model d's on the road thanks
around 12 or 13 mph
@@bufferbridge thanks
The ground is in real good shape, you never take it with only 2wd if the ground was wet & heavy
@@johnmccready-pc3brthe land is different in different parts as for who ploughs wet ground, land is very often wet when been ploughed,
I have been thought to plow the first run in oppositie direction, and then plow back the other way
Why do these people podger along on low throttle. Then he upped a gear which really overloaded, for what? Had he stayed in the original one and opened the throttle it would have stormed along with such a small plough. All for a sound bite. A really great tractor poor demonstrator, grey hair does not signify wisdom as some earlier comments imply..
Always a smart ass, the reason he didn't want to open the throttle was the field is full of big rocks, we just asked him if it would pull it in the next gear up
@@bufferbridge Smart Ass! Well may be your point of view but it doesn’t matter what gear you are in, rocks or not if the ground speed is the same. Others have raised this point. John Deere tractors have always had great torque back up and the diesel ones especially so but one would not use one in this way full time so why?? I grew up in the forties on a farm with four JDs all of which worked long hours for over twenty year with virtually no breakdowns or faults which might not have been the case if driven at low rpm as this one. Having spent a lifetime as an agricultural engineer and now in my eighties and at one time official demonstrator for Massey Ferguson I suppose I am entitled to have my opinion and ask a question. Nice to have a response but courtesy costs little. Calm down dear.
@@peejaygeee why the fuck can't people just enjoy a video?, if a video is not to your taste, click somewhere else. You may be right or you may be wrong with your opinion, after all, they are like assholes, everybody has one. You say calm down, I can assure you I am calm, personally I couldn't give a flying fuck mate
Nice and light on the headland
There's something wonderful about watching good ploughing
It's a job I never get tired of doing
@@bufferbridge it's just farming at it's most basic.
Lovely crackle from the engine!
You can give her a little bit more throttle!
